Moderator of the session: New Insights in General Surgery, Visceral Surgery (Language: German)

Gender-specific medicine is gaining increasing importance, also in the surgical field, as it is the only way to enable a differentiated and patient-oriented care.

As president of the German-speaking network "Die Chirurginnen e.V." with over 2,600 members and as chief physician, I am deeply committed to promoting research in this area and spreading knowledge about gender-specific differences not only within the medical community.

It is especially noteworthy that the Gender Medicine working group of our network is actively involved in the preparation and organization of the first international conference on this topic, in order to sustainably promote gender-specific aspects in surgery.
